Laissez Foure Dixieland Jazz Band Live Concert an evening of Java and Jazz (limited seating) Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 6:00 PM At Second Stage Amherst, 194 Second Street, Amherst, VA 24521 Vladimir Kvachev, banjo; Rob White, tuba; Bags Howard, cornet; and Ken Matthews, clarinet and sacophone. Washington, DC-based Laissez Foure celebrates 15 years of bringing New Orleans-inspired jazz to the public. Now this versatile combo brings two solid sets of Dixieland to Amherst inspired by Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet and Fats Waller. You’ll hear authentic instrumentation such as tuba, C-melody sax, banjo, washboard and cornet. Tickets: $10 Free cup of coffee - or soda or water - with each ticket. May be purchased at the door 45 minutes before the event, (cash or checks only; first come first served. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. Baines Books and Coffee will be open from 5:30 to 8 pm.  Quiche and sandwiches available for purchase Audience are asked to wear masks while not eating or drinking, and will be seated at socially distanced tables inside. In 2019-20 AGAR inaugurated a monthly jazz series featuring local professional musicians with help from Second Stage Amherst and Baine's Coffee. Seating is limited, so arrive early.
