Jamaican-American soprano Dr. Christine Jobson has performed around the world and throughout the United States. She was a featured soloist for two seasons at the Metropolitan Opera in two Grammy-winning productions–Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and Terence Blanchard’s acclaimed Fire Shut Up in My Bones, in which she covered the role of Evenlyn. In May 2019, Christine won first place in the pre-professional category of the prestigious George Shirley Vocal Competition.

Manhattan baritone Markel Reed, a native of Charlotte, NC, has interpreted classic and contemporary works throughout North America and Europe. He originated the role of Chester in the St. Louis premiere of Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up In My Bones and went on to cover Adult James in the Metropolitan Opera’s production last season. He, too, sang in the Met’s production of Porgy and Bess, in which he covered the role of Lawyer Frazier, and in The Tongue & The Lash, a piece created in the wake of George Floyd’s death, with Opera Theatre of St. Louis in 2021.

Dr. Emily Yap Chua is Chair of Randolph College’s Department of Performing Arts. Described as “remarkably passionate” and “vividly enchanting” by The Daily Tribune and “spirited and movingly expressive," by The Philippine STAR, Chua is sought-after as a speaker, academic, and performer in venues and institutions across the nation.
